low-vision specialist will perform an evaluation.
This specialist

works closely with your optometrist or ophthalmologist
to design a comprehensive plan to meet your individual
needs.
Following Your Comprehensive
Evaluation, Your Program may Include:
Education on
how to use remaining vision more efficiently. This
may involve
specific exercises and training in how
to use intact areas of vision to compensate for
the
damaged
areas.
Training in the use of
adaptive equipment to compensate for vision loss,
enabling you to accomplish activities of daily
living as safely and independently as possible.
Modification of activities
to be done with less vision.
Recommendations for home
modifications to improve safety and to reduce
the impact of vision changes on daily activities.
